Says Dr Samvat: “Sleep stimulates growth, proper brain development, memory, alertness and strengthens the immune system – so it follows that sleep is a very important part of childhood.”

Sleep4health clinic plans to currently running “Sleep Health Challenges” in which participants will undergo a comprehensive assessment of their sleep and lifestyle (which may also include blood tests and hormonal tests) and then embark on an individually-tailored 16 week program to improve their sleep (encompassing areas such as diet, nutrition, exercise and much more). At the end of 16 weeks, participants are again assessed about their sleep and lifestyle to gauge improvements. Participants who have undergone these challenges at other sleep4health clinics have experienced outstanding success, including the side benefit of losing weight through their enhanced sleep life.

As well as diet and lifestyle, other areas sleep4health looks at are brain function, posture and chiropractic issues, digestion, dental issues and more. The sleep4health treatment spectrum includes numerous safe and gentle techniques such as chiropractic spinal manipulation, applied kinesiology, cranial manipulation, acupuncture and chiropractic neurology, and at times utilises other modalities such as nutritional therapy, hair mineral analysis, bioimpedance analysis, counselling, hypoxic training, rehabilitation and exercise.

The message is clear: lack of sleep may take longer to kill you – but it can still do the job.
